Who we are
Seepwise (seepwise.com) publishes guides and calculators about crawl spaces, basements, foundations, sump pumps, mold and moisture. Questions about this policy go to hello@seepwise.com.
What we collect
Analytics data
We use Google Analytics 4, connected through Google Site Kit. When you visit, it records information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or region). Google uses your IP address to estimate that location. We cannot see who you are from this data.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write, such as a price quote or a question. We use it only to reply and, with your permission, to improve our cost data.
Server logs
Our host, Hostinger, automatically logs technical details of each request, such as IP address, browser, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell visits apart. WordPress sets login cookies only for site staff. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Who we share it with
We share data only with the services that run the site: Google (analytics) and Hostinger (hosting). They process it for us under their own terms. Google explains how it uses data from sites like ours in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Ads and affiliate links
Seepwise does not show ads or use affiliate links yet. Before we add either, we will update this policy. Ad networks and retailers set their own cookies when they are used.
How long we keep it
- Analytics data: for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, no longer than 14 months for detailed event data
- Emails: as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of price data you shared
- Server logs: as long as our host keeps them for security
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other US states with privacy laws, or the EU and UK, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Email hello@seepwise.com to make a request. We will reply within 45 days.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. We do not sell or share personal information, so a Global Privacy Control signal changes nothing on this site. Our site does not respond to Do Not Track signals, because there is no common standard for them.
Children
Seepwise is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Where data is processed
Google and Hostinger may process data in the United States and other countries.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
